Ohai There It’s been a while, eh?
Looking at recent entries, I noticed the one where I talk about deleting Facebook posts. Well, I’ve gone a bit further and deleted the Facebook app from my phone and iPad, along with Twitter and Instagram. It’s a wee experiment I’ve decided to conduct to see if I miss social media. So far, I’m not missing it at all.
I feel like I should provide somewhere to let people who might be interested see what I’m up to, though - so I decided to try and resurrect this old blog.
Deleting social media
Cathartic Deletions I decided to kill the majority of my Facebook posts. It’s taken me a couple of weeks as it’s a laborious task - you can’t batch delete things on Facebook, you have to go through every post one at time (tip - you can delete quicker using a the dedicated app on a tablet or a phone - it really takes an age doing it in a browser.). I haven’t done this because of the latest scare stories regarding data mining and that Cambridge Analytics or whatever, it’s something I’ve been contemplating for quite a while.
Hydrogen as a clean energy source
Why Aren’t We Talking About Hydrogen? I’ve been meaning to blog on this subject for quite a while now.
It’s great that renewables are high up on the public agenda these days, with all the talk of electric vehicles, offshore wind farms and tidal arrays. But there’s an obvious gap in the mix, a glaring hole in our thinking, a gap that could quite easily be filled with a technology that might be just as, if not more, important than anything else we are talking about.
